Introducing your 2008 Mid-Atlantic District Quartet Champions!

Hailing from the Washington, D.C. area, southeast Pennsylvania, and northeast Ohio, New Release formed after a chance meeting at an Alexandria Harmonizers chapter meeting. In April, Joe and Ryan happened to be at the chapter meeting singing with another quartet and Shawn was visiting the Mid Atlantic District fulfilling his addiction to barbershop. After a short conversation, we all discovered we were of age to compete in the college contest. Joe and Ryan already had a great baritone, Noah, from a previous quartet and the rest is history. Proving that distance was not an issue, New Release committed to a limited but productive rehearsal schedule. In May they were able to perform well enough to win the Mid Atlantic District Collegiate Prelims Contest, and were rewarded with the honor and privilege to represent the MAD in Salt Lake City. On July 8th, 2005, New Release performed well enough to become the 2005 International Collegiate Silver Medalists!
